LRS (Language Recruitment Services) is recruiting for a General Ledger Accountant with Spanish or Mandarin or French or Italian.

The objective of the General Ledger Accountant:
- To effectively Produce and Maintain the Financial Records of the company
- To provide management accounts for the management and operations

Responsibilities of the General Ledger Accountant:
- Responsible for Payroll, Sales Ledger, Credit Control, Purchase Ledger, VAT Returns, Nominal Ledger, Provision of Financial Reports and prepare Year End Accounts for the auditors

PAYROLL
- Processing P45/P46 details in system to produce output for wages run.
- Input of payments to Sage Payroll system.
- Preparation and sending out payslips
- Processing wages payments via BACS transmission.
- Update of automatic link which copies cost figures from Sage Payroll system to Nominal Ledger in Sage Line 50 (and system back up).
- Maintaining employee records and responding to ad-hoc Inland Revenue queries

SALES LEDGER
- Preparation of invoices on Sage Line 50,
- Cashbook and ledger reconciliation.

CREDIT CONTROL
- Maintain and update details of all outstanding customer invoices.
- Preparation of statements for customers.
- Liaising with late paying customers to ensure payment of outstanding invoices.

PURCHASE LEDGER
- Input of purchases invoices and petty cash payments into Sage Line 50.
- Processing payments through Sage system plus ledger reconciliation.
- Filing of purchase invoices for reference purposes.
- Production of quarterly VAT returns.

NOMINAL LEDGER
- Bank reconciliation.
- Processing accruals, prepayments and other month end procedures to produce monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet in Sage Line 50.

REPORTING
- Provision of routine and ad-hoc reports
- Management Reports.
- P&L.
- Balance Sheet
