Language Recruitment Services (LRS) is currently seeking an exceptional journalist to join the dynamic editorial team of a multinational technology company based in London.

As an integral part of the team, you will be responsible for identifying trending stories relevant to a UK audience and crafting engaging content that captivates readers in novel and compelling ways.

The ideal candidate will possess the versatility to cover a broad spectrum of topics, ranging from UK politics and the Ukraine crisis to pop culture, celebrities, and heartwarming human-interest stories.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the UK team to swiftly identify emerging issues and deliver well-crafted stories, focusing on distinctive storytelling techniques.

  • Source expert insights, where applicable, to ensure the content is both informative and credible.

  • Innovate by experimenting with new content formats and enhancing established ones to drive audience growth.

  • Contribute to the team's efforts to boost traffic and meet performance targets.

  • Utilize analytics and real-time data to inform editorial decisions, ensuring the most effective audience engagement.

  • Foster collaboration with the audience team to consistently expand the reach to new audiences.

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of new content franchises.

Requirements:

  • A background in conducting interviews, sourcing stories and writing for digital publications.

  • A solid understanding of media law and ethical journalism practices.

  • Experience as a regional or national reporter, proficiency in live blogging, or visual journalism skills.

  • Strong analytical and data-driven approach to content creation.

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams.

  • A preference for candidates with a National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ) qualification or a journalism-related degree.

  • Occasionally, be available for work during unsociable hours, including weekends and evenings, as required by business needs.

  • Self-starter with a proactive mindset.
